Calculate how many calories your body uses if you just laid in bed all day
Now, just subtract 500 calories and that is what you can eat if you want to lose 2-3lbs a week. If you are really active, you can obviously eat more.

Megan, join now!! I now that if you are planning on weight loss surgery, they are going to put you on a diet first to prove you can stick to a plan and lose some on your own. Never to early to start!! I was all set to get the lap band until I lost my insurance and I was devastated to say the least. Finally, I just woke up one day and said fuck it. Why can't I eat like I have had the surgery?? And I have been doing it ever since. 30lbs gone. YAY!

Well, I thought really hard about going for a walk yesterday - that had to have burnt off *some* calories? LOL
Seriously, I need to lose about 30lbs. I got into that comfy relationship whatever sort of mode & now even my fat pants are too tight. : (
I need some motivation to get off my lazy ass & MOVE!

I added a BMR widget. GO ahead and enter your info to determine how many calories your body needs a day just to stay alive. In order to lose weight, just keep it below that amount.

1 lbs = 3500 calories.
If you want to lose 1 lb a week, just cut your daily caloric intake by 3500 cals in one week. :)
