The Creative Process

The creative process. For my band it means sitting on a trampoline for two hours trying to think of a band name and shouting out whatever comes to mind. Sorta like: "Hey guys, wanna go inside and actually play our instruments?" Then someone shouts as a band name "Actually Play Our Instruments!". Eventually growing darkness, chill fall air and the need for a bathroom drove us inside. Well that and there were Oreos inside. "Milk's Favorite Band!" Yeah, that was an actual suggestion. Along with "Shoelaces" "Hair" "That 70s Band(Even Though None Of Us Were Born In The 70s)" and "Your Epidermis Is Showing". I do kind of like the last one.Of course being on a trampoline means that we ended up jumping around and singin Blue October's "Jump Rope" at the top of our lungs. And just randomly shouting.

I must say individual creative process is a way different from group. And often quieter. Of course we probably made more progress on the trampoline then our earlier activity: Hitting eachother with sticks. It started out as general sword fighting on the road but when our bassist went to far by grabbing a really big branch the rest of us gained up on him and it turned into war. He had some pretty cool Darth Maul moves but we out numbered him, eventually ripping the branch from his hands, shouting war cries and breaking it to peices. He then found a bigger branch and the cycle continued untill we were all tired and bored. So we sat in the road and talked about the future and "Hey, wouldn't it be funny if a bus came and ran us over?". A miniute later the school bus came barreling down the road. We froze like deer in the headlights and stood stupidly then bolted. crouching in the bushes we watched it go by. Perhaps this is the start of something big. But maybe not.
